Cao Cao asked Yuan Shao to take up arms against the tyrant, which he did. He played a crucial role in defeating the Eunuchs but did not follow Dong Zhuo when he could. Yuan Shu's halfbrother and right hand of He Jin, who was murdered by the Ten Eunuchs. Cao Cao would conquer his lands later on. He ordered Sun Jian to command the troops and ruled from Nanyang as a decadent and extravagant leader. When Dong Zhuo claimed the capital for himself, Yuan Shu settled in the same province and formed an alliance with other warlords to defeat the tyrant.ĭong Zhuo killed Yuan Shu's father, resulting in a dispute between him and his brother about who could rule over the family. The tyrant named him the general of the rear, meaning that Yuan Shu was great at fighting against the corruption. He rode with Dong Zhuo and Cao Cao to the capital when emperor Ling passed away. The hard life in Northern China made Ma Teng a tough warrior and when the tribes in Qiang rose up against the Han, he joined the army.īecause of successes in battle Ma Teng was promoted, he rebelled against the empire later on, when he was not granted autonomy of his lands. After a dispute he was demoted and moved with his family to Northern China where Ma Teng was born. Ma Teng originates from the Maoling province and his father served in the army of the empire. He was a traditional leader and tried his hardest to keep the status quo, however difficult it may have been in an empire that is falling apart. Liu Biao wanted stability and did everything in his power to let his lands flourish in times of peace. Because of his good relationship with the common people he was able to conquer their hearts and was known to surround himself with the right advisors.Ī scholar and member of the Eight Geniuses of Jiangxia, Liu Biao ruled over the Jing province. As a grandson of emperor Ling he was raised with ambition and predestined to do great things in his life. Liu BeiĪ moderate yet kind and able warlord, Liu Bei grew up in a poor family in Zhou. Kong Rong believes that wars are won with knowledge and analysis thus supporting education. He was also a part of the Seven Scholars of Jian'An and was often involved in discussions with Cao Cao.
The people saw him as an honest, intelligent and determined ruler. The people he dealt with in Beihai got convinced of his way of ruling and Kong Rong became a beloved leader. Kong RongĪ descendant of Confucius and long time ruler over Beihai in de Qing province which was plagued by Yellow Turban Rebels.
Yuan Shao defeated Gongsun Zan and the warlord committed suicide afterwards in 199. Gongsun Zan wanted to rule with an iron fist over the people in Northern China whereas Liu Yu wanted to take a milder approach.

Together with Liu Yu he defeated the rebels but they had different visions on how to rule resulting in a long lasting rivalry. The warlord studied with Liu Bei and achieved great successes in Northern China where he was sent to deal with the rebels. Man of the army, Gongsun Zan rules a state like he rules an army. Cao Cao is called the puppet master because of his ingenious diplomacy. He also laid out the foundation of the future Wei kingdom and was a beloved and respected general. Cao Cao grew up to be a politician, he studied hard and became a clever leader. His family was always involved in the politics of the land, his father being an adoptive son of a euneuch at the court. Cao CaoĪ strategist at heart, Cao Cao is from Qiao in the Han empire. He took control over the troops that He Jin had left leaderless and ruled through fear and terror, thus giving him the nickname: Tyrant. When the euneuchs heard of this they fled with the child emperor but were intercepted by Dong Zhuo.
Dong Zhuo, however, was defeated and demoted, he decided to settle in the Liang province which resulted in a death sentence from Sun Jian.ĭuring his march to the capital the Ten Euneuchs, who had seized power, ordered to kill He Jin who asked Dong Zhuo to come to the court. Those were rebels who opposed the Han dynasty and will be added in Three Kingdoms as a DLC. In his youth he travelled through the Qiang redion and started getting recognition when he was sent to deal with the Yellow Turban Rebellion in the province. He rode with Cao Cao and Yuan Shao to the capital to kill the euneuchs and proclaim himself as leader. As stated above, Dong Zhuo seized power after the death of Emperor Ling of the Han dynasty.
